A Piece of Peace

Hello to all
I hope you are beginning to follow this peace movement. I know it sounds corny but what else can a mom with two kids, 4 cats and 2 guinea pigs do to make a change in this world. If nothing else the recipents of my pieces of peace will hopefully have a bright spot of their day.

I had a up and down day. I was a bit of a stressed out mom today which does not help anyone. Parking lots, gymnastics and germs had me on high alert and stressed out. Despite all that (and a minor tantrum or two....me not the kids) I did sneak in some peaceful moments.

Piece #3 When I was ordering our food at Culvers today I looked directly at the cashier, chatted with him and told him he did a good job (he was in training). I can not tell you how many times I have checked out (supermarket, library, fast food) and not acknowledged the person on the other end. How many interactions have you had and not even looked up? I challenge you to LOOK UP!!

Piece #4. We have been living in our house for over two years. We have done very little entertaining here. Tonight we had friends over to share our TransSiberian trip-good food, good people and good conversation. THat is what makes the world a better place!

  1. Hello Peace Mom,
Great Blog! Love it, love the idea. I will contribute, ummmmmm, let's see if I have anything peaceful recently. -thinking- Okay, got one. Piece #4: Today I am going to my son's school to help with Kindergarten ice skating at lunch time. It is the second time I (and wonderful husband) are going, and the last time was just wonderful. It is very peaceful to get to know your child's classmates face-to-face, and help them do something special. It takes a few hours, and that will make memories to last a lifetime. For us parents especially. Volunteering rocks!!
